Training Synopsis
In order to create successful AM components there are a number of key design considerations which need to be understood, implemented and adapted dependent on the AM technology you are using and also the end result of the part or component. This course will provide you with all of the essential information, experience and design constraints you will need to optimise your designs for FDM & PolyJet AM.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the existing Additive Manufacturing Technologies, their applications, advantages and limitations of each.
- Understand the process of FDM and PolyJet technology
- Learn the pre-process and production process for AM
- Learn to consider software settings within GrabCAD/Advanced FDM and Insight for part preparation
- Design parts taking in to consideration the design rules for FDM
- Choose the best suitable material for FDM applications
- Understand the design rules for PolyJet
- Understand the basics about Toplogy Optimization/Generative Design
- Undertake practical design tasks and exercises that are related to real world applications
